Phil brings extensive experience in issues management across both the private and public sectors, having held senior roles advising Premiers in Victoria and Tasmania.

His career is marked by a steady focus on helping organisations and leaders navigate complex public affairs landscapes and manage reputational risk with confidence.

In the private sector, Phil led government and stakeholder relations for Slater and Gordon, one of Australia’s leading national law firms. Over time, he has built a strong reputation as an independent business consultant, known for his clear insight and pragmatic advice.

What sets Phil apart is his deep understanding of how media, public affairs, and community interests intersect. He has a nuanced sense of how to influence change that lasts, even in environments marked by rapid shifts and competing pressures.

Phil has also held executive positions at two of Victoria’s largest statutory compensation schemes – WorkSafe Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). In these roles, he guided and delivered significant reforms in high-profile and often contentious policy areas, including some of Australia’s most recognised behaviour change campaigns.

Beyond his professional career, Phil has been actively involved in local government, serving three terms as a councillor and mayor in one of Victoria’s most culturally diverse communities.
