Courtney is highly experienced in providing strategic policy, communications and campaign advice and expertise at a senior level.

He has more than a decade of experience in Victorian parliamentary processes, and a proven record of assisting decision makers to develop successful political strategies, respond to complex policy issues, and negotiate across party lines.

Courtney has more than a decade of experience within political roles, having most recently completed time as economic adviser and Director of Policy for multiple leaders of the Victorian Opposition. This followed a significant period as a Senior Ministerial Adviser in Victoria, advising within the portfolios of Treasury, Road Safety and TAC, WorkSafe, Technology, and Aviation.

Prior to his role in government Courtney worked in education across both the public and private school sectors.

Public Policy:  To be successful, public policy solutions should be targeted, supported by evidence, and consider the current economic, social and political landscape.  Courtney has years of experience advising across a broad and complex range of public policy areas, and can leverage this knowledge to develop policy options that have the best chance of being listened to and acted upon by government.
