Phil Reed

Senior Associate

Phil has an extensive track-record of issues management in both the private and public sectors, including senior roles for the premiers of Victoria and Tasmania.

Phil mentors senior business and community leaders with a particular emphasis on helping them navigate Australia’s public affairs landscape to manage reputational risk.

In the private sector, he was head of government and stakeholder relations for leading national law firm Slater and Gordon and has carved out an enviable reputation as an independent business consultant.

Phil has held executive roles at Victoria’s two biggest statutory compensation schemes – WorkSafe Victoria and the Transport Accident Scheme (TAC) – guiding and implementing significant change in high-profile and contentious policy areas. In these roles he also delivered some of Australia’s most iconic behaviour change campaigns.

Phil has a unique understanding of the context in which the media and its stakeholders operate. He has developed a deep insight into the intersection between public affairs and people and knows how to implement lasting change in a constantly changing environment.

In addition to his professional roles Phil also served three terms as a local government councillor and mayor in one of Victoria’s most multicultural communities.
