Chris Owner

Chris is a political, policy and communications professional, with extensive experience in government and consulting with private and public sector organisations.

Having provided strategic direction to several senior State Government ministers, Chris has inside knowledge of government procedures and processes, and the pressures faced by senior bureaucrats and their ministers.

He uses that knowledge to help clients cut through the noise to achieve their business, policy and funding objectives.

Chris has wide portfolio experience, having served as chief of staff to the minister responsible for local government, liquor and gaming and transport portfolios and as well as previously advising other ministers in the environment, justice and energy portfolios.

At The Agenda Group Chris has helped clients in the energy, agriculture, health, sport, local government and tourism sectors identify and achieve their goals.

This included helping a multinational tourism operator negotiate a sustainable outcome for the industry while external debate raged around housing affordability and availability. The outcome was seen as beneficial for communities, operators and taxpayers.

Among his other recent achievements, Chris helped local government drive outcomes for the community through navigating a complex multi-billion-dollar federal government led industry and infrastructure package.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts (public relations) from Charles Sturt University.
